VANOS S.A. at CLIA Innovation EXPO – DAY 2 /3

During the second and third days at the CLIA Exhibition, our team, consisting of Mr. Emmanuel Vassilopoulos, Vice President & COO of VANOS S.A., Mr. Konstantinos Sagris, Provisions Dpt. Manager, Mr. Spyridon Kintzios and Mr. Nikolaos Dourvas, scientific partners, continues to lead the charge in the marine technology and food & beverage industries. Building on the momentum of our opening day, we’ve deepened conversations, fostered new connections, and showcased our relentless pursuit of innovation across both sectors.

We were honored to be present and witness the moment when the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Presidents of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vassilis Korkidis, and the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa, Luigi Attanasio, at a special event held in the framework of the Clia Innovation Expo exhibition. This MoC aims to create favourable conditions for the development of economic relations between businesses in Genoa and Piraeus.

At Booth No. 1212, the day was marked by a series of interactive presentations, where attendees witnessed firsthand the potential of our cutting-edge solutions. The spotlight shone brightly on our latest maritime technology projects, drawing a keen interest from industry professionals keen to understand the impact of these advancements on future maritime operations.

Over at Booth No. 413, the flavor of innovation was unmistakable. Our dedicated team engaged visitors with live demonstrations of our latest F&B products, specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the maritime welfare. Today’s highlight was the unveiling of our new line of sustainable packaging solutions, reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship while serving the market’s evolving demands.

1st International Conference on Extreme Hazards & CBRNe HAZMAT Operations

VANOS S.A. was the proud organizer of the 1st International Conference on Extreme Hazards & CBRNe/HAZMAT Operations held on February 15, 2024, at the Piraeus Marine Club in Athens.

The full-day conference brought together leading experts from all over the world to explore operations in extreme-risk environments and was attended by representatives from the Armed Forces, Security Forces, and Civil Protection. A distinguished lineup of keynote speakers, experts, and panelists shared their insights, experiences, and cutting-edge research.

The event was divided into three sessions: “Extreme Hazards, immediate and long-term effects”, “CBRNe operations–In field Detection, Protection, and Elimination”, and “Dry Decontamination, what is it, how it works, where it is implemented”. Each session was followed by interesting and fruitful discussions.

The EU-funded project “TeamUP”, in which VANOS S.A. actively participates, was also presented during the conference, highlighting its innovative approach to address CBRNe incidents through its groundbreaking solutions for triage, detection, identification, monitoring (DIM), search and rescue (SAR), decontamination (Decon) and other aspects of a CBRNe operation in extreme-risk environments.

Advisor, Spyros Kintzios, are currently attending the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024 (Davos, Switzerland), where -thanks to Mrs. Eirini Vantaraki and the Greek House Davos- they have the opportunity to present the role of new technologies and, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), as a catalyst for economic development.

From the very beginning, our company embraced the vision of creating the Hellenic Shipyards Association and consists of one of its proud founding members.

The recent revival of the ship-building and ship-constructing industry in Greece was the topic of the 1st Conference of the newly established Association of Hellenic Shipyards (“Ένωση Ελληνικών Ναυπηγείων”).

VANOS S.A. sponsored and actively participated to the Association’s 1st Conference, which took place on Tuesday, December 19th, at the Athenaum Intercontinental Hotel and was attended by representatives of the Greek government, prestigious maritime organizations and companies of the broader maritime cluster.

Mrs. Katerina Vanou, President & CEO and Mr. Emmanuel Vassilopoulos, Vice President & COO of VANOS S.A. attended the event, while Miss Iliana Vassilopoulou, Project Manager of the Research & Development Dpt. presented our company’s history and the comprehensive offered solutions & services, which primarily focus on Safety in every field, proving our motto “ALWAYS WITH SAFETY”.

VANOS S.A. SUPPORTED THE 1ST HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS TRAINING COURSE (HEAT) IN GREECE

VANOS S.A. undertook the grand sponsorship of the Hostile Environment Awareness Pivotal Training Course (HEAT), which was held for the first time in Greece.

The pivotal training program, to which Mr. Emmanuel Vassilopoulos – COO & Vice President of VANOS S.A. participated as a trainee, took place during 13-17/11/2023 in Kilkis, and was organized by the Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Center (MPSOTC), in collaboration with Meducation – International Medical Training Institute specializing in Emergency Prehospital Care and First Aid.

The main purpose of the course was to improve the trainees’ awareness of the multiple threats that may be encountered in hostile environments and to provide ways to deal with hazards and survive under any conditions in the field.
