Our President & CEO Mrs. Katerina Vanou, Vice President & COO Mr. Manos Vassilopoulos, and R&D Dpt. Advisor, Spyros Kintzios, are currently attending the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024 (Davos, Switzerland), where -thanks to Mrs. Eirini Vantaraki and the Greek House Davos- they have the opportunity to present the role of new technologies and, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), as a catalyst for economic development.

On Monday, January 15, 2024, Mrs. Katerina Vanou and Mr. Manos Vassilopoulos, participated in the Greek House Davos Forum panel “Mapping growth catalysts among emerging powers: A Dialogue on Investment Prospects across Europe and Asia” amongst: Mrs. Varda Taneja, Vice-President of Invest India, Mr. Agnishwar Jayprakash, CEO of Garuda Aerospace, Mr. Betsabe Botaitis, CFO and Treasurer of Hedera, and the moderator of the panel Mr. Rhett Power, editor of Forbes.

VANOS S.A. proud founding member of the Hellenic Shipyards Association

From the very beginning, our company embraced the vision of creating the Hellenic Shipyards Association and consists of one of its proud founding members.

The recent revival of the ship-building and ship-constructing industry in Greece was the topic of the 1st Conference of the newly established Association of Hellenic Shipyards (“Ένωση Ελληνικών Ναυπηγείων”).

VANOS S.A. sponsored and actively participated to the Association’s 1st Conference, which took place on Tuesday, December 19th, at the Athenaum Intercontinental Hotel and was attended by representatives of the Greek government, prestigious maritime organizations and companies of the broader maritime cluster.

Mrs. Katerina Vanou, President & CEO and Mr. Emmanuel Vassilopoulos, Vice President & COO of VANOS S.A. attended the event, while Miss Iliana Vassilopoulou, Project Manager of the Research & Development Dpt. presented our company’s history and the comprehensive offered solutions & services, which primarily focus on Safety in every field, proving our motto “ALWAYS WITH SAFETY”.

We salute the initiative of the Hellenic Shipyards Association and wish that this Conference will be the first of many more successful to come.

 

VANOS S.A. SUPPORTED THE 1ST HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS TRAINING COURSE (HEAT) IN GREECE

VANOS S.A. undertook the grand sponsorship of the Hostile Environment Awareness Pivotal Training Course (HEAT), which was held for the first time in Greece.

The pivotal training program, to which Mr. Emmanuel Vassilopoulos – COO & Vice President of VANOS S.A. participated as a trainee, took place during 13-17/11/2023 in Kilkis, and was organized by the Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Center (MPSOTC), in collaboration with Meducation – International Medical Training Institute specializing in Emergency Prehospital Care and First Aid.

The main purpose of the course was to improve the trainees’ awareness of the multiple threats that may be encountered in hostile environments and to provide ways to deal with hazards and survive under any conditions in the field.

We would like to express our warmest Thank You to all participants and instructors, the Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Center (MPSOTC) and the Meducation Institute for the unwavering support and life changing experience.

 

VANOS S.A. at CERIS Disaster Resilient Societies: Annual event 2023

From December 4th to 7th, 2023, our colleague and R&D Dpt. Project Manager, Ms. Iliana Vasilopoulou, participated in the CERIS Disaster Resilient Societies: Annual Event held in Brussels, Belgium. The event gathered key stakeholders from various sectors to discuss ongoing and upcoming EU-funded projects in disaster risk reduction. Sessions covered critical areas such as CBRNe, societal resilience, risk governance, and technologies for first responders, highlighting innovations and challenges in disaster management. The project, VANOS S.A. is taking part, TeamUP, was also presented during the event, showcasing our company’s active participation in disaster risk reduction initiatives.

In addition to gaining valuable insights, the event provided an exceptional networking platform, fostering meaningful dialogue between policymakers, industry experts, and practitioners. We look forward to exploring new synergies and applying fresh perspectives to enhance our approach in disaster resilience. A special thank you to the organizers for creating such a valuable space for collaboration and innovation.

 

“ GO MARITIME ” TRAINING – MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY OF CHIOS

VANOS S.A. supported the “Go Maritime” event organized by Isalos.net.

Our Business Development Manager, Mr. Theofilos Kourounis, participated in the event hosted on Wednesday, 29th of November 2023, at the Merchant Marine Academy of Chios.

Mr. Theofilos Kourounis, addressed several issues about health & safety at sea that students and future seafarers need to know.

We remain committed to providing enhanced training services and comprehensive solutions.

VANOS S.A. and LEMUR Maritime proudly conducted the “RightShip Inspection Simplified” workshop on November 2nd at the central premises of VANOS S.A.

Throughout the event, VANOS S.A. & Lemur Maritime, were delighted to provide information to attendees with a comprehensive list of products and services deemed essential for compliance with RightShip Version 3.0. Moreover, we had the privilege of showcasing digital tools designed to streamline pre-vetting preparation processes.

In addition to these informative presentations, the highly-qualified panel of VANOS S.A.’s & Lemur Maritime’s experts discussed a wide array of topics, vital to the maritime industry.

“HUMAN FACTORS: A PRACTICAL APPROACH FOR SHIPBOARD OPERATIONS” EVENT

We would like to thank all of you for your attendance at the event “Human Factors: A practical approach for shipboard operations”, that was successfully held on June 28th at Piraeus Marine Club.

During the event, VANOS S.A. proudly introduced the new VNS 360° Solution, powered by Lemur Maritime, a cutting-edge system designed to enhance operations in the maritime sector.

Once again, the VANOS S.A team participated in a “Go Maritime” event organized by Isalos.net in the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos.

Οur Business Development Manager, Mr. Theofilos Kourounis, conducted two workshops:
a) Gas detection & confined spaces management
b) Safe Navigation: Innovative technologies

while the rest of the Team, Mrs. Iliana Vasilopoulou – Sales Executive and Mr. George Koursaris – Head Of Service Operations / E-Navigation Dpt., communicated and discussed with the new generation of seafarers contributing to their further growth.
